LAS VEGAS — Unified Super middleweight titleholder Andre Ward suffered a shoulder injury during training and his Jan. 26 title defense against Kelly Pavlik will likely be rescheduled, multiple sources told SI.com

Though no final decision has been made, sources say the fight will likely be rescheduled in late February or early March.

Ward (26-0) is coming off a 10th-round TKO of Chad Dawson on Sept. 8. Pavlik, who took nine months off from boxing to begin 2012, has won his last four fights, most recently defeating Will Rosinsky in July.

I will never understand the politics of Boxing and this Ranking of Pound for Pound best fighter works. How can a fighter who fights only once a year sometimes less and fights only once great fighters in their twilight : (De La Hoya, Mosley) fighters well past their prime (Cotto) and guys fighting above their normal fighting weight  ( Hatton , Marquez ) and an over hyped bum Victor Ortiz who is known more for his losses than his wins. (Maidana quit , Mayweather KO Cheap shot after a illegal head butt, Lopez TKO by unranked last minute replacement) stay ranked # 1 after year long lay off after year long lay off and refusing to fight the "The second best fighter of his Era" ?  Ward has dominated every fighter in his weight class and fought the Lineal Champion of the weight class above his 175 lbs. Ward has been the most Dominant fighter since 2009 fighting only  fighters in their prime. Something Mayweather & Pacquiao haven't done in quite some time. What else does this 2004 Gold Metalist and 2011Ring Magazine fighter of the Year have to do to be considered the # 1 Pound for Pound fighter in the World ?

@Henry M I agree. Ward is the #1 pfp out there right now. He will face anyone, not duck and cover like Mayweather. Ward doesn't get press because hes a chess player in a checkers world. Still, hands down best pfp!!!!!!
